Sweet Lavender Children "Addie"

Please let me introduce you to "Addie Gosey".  This sweet little doll is 15" tall and made of Wool Felt.  She is Hand-Painted and has a Human Hair wig created by me.

She is named after a real person born in Alabama in the year 1890.
Her face was inspired by a vintage photo.

She wears a combination of vintage and contemporary fabric, lace, and trim.
Her hat is molded Wool Felt also made by me.

She is the first in a series to be made for the Crossroads Doll and Teddy Bear Show in October

Sneak Peek

Abba Guy
Born: 1811

Sweet Lavender Dolls are a new line in my
Wool Felt Doll Collection.
These dainty dolls stand a mere 15 inches, and are completely designed and created by
Many, many hours go into the creation of my Sweet Lavender Dolls.

These dolls are truly Heirloom Quality and are meant for adult collectors.

Each sweet little Hand-drawn face was inspired by a vintage photograph of a child.  The faces may be used on several dolls but all are one-of-a-kind.

Only the finest Artist Grade mediums are used in the creation of each little face.  Each face is sealed with a UV protectant to insure a painting that will last a lifetime.

I give most of these dolls Human Hair, that is securely attached to their heads.  But in some cases Mohair or even Tibetan Lambs Wool may be used.

All Clothes and Hats are hand-made by me and are a combination of vintage and contemporary materials and designs.  Most shoes are purchased and may be distressed.

Each doll represents, and is given the name of a real child,  a birthdate, and even a place of birth.
Each name is totally vintage and at least 100 years old.

Each doll is signed on the back and given a bum tag with her name and Birthdate on it.

I am truly in love with these dolls and I am sure you will be too.

Creating the face

I just thought I would just post a work in progress of two different dolls at different  stages of creation.

• The first picture is the start of the facial creation...I call it a picture blank where only the black and white facial features are started on the felt.

• The second pic is of the finished face (different doll).  It takes me a couple of days to make the head because of the drying processes.  This is a fun technique and I am enjoying the process.

Talk to you soon

I have been having such a good time making these sweet little babies.

I posted her to eBay yesterday.  Here is her Auction Link
I have started her out with a low starting price and no reserve.
Hope you will take a peek and watch her...Thanks so much!!

I Loves Me Some Felt!!

 Hello there!!

Well I finally got my patterns designed and the first of many (I hope) Felt dolls made.

These sweet little dolls are so cute and warm and cuddly.  I don't stuff the body too tight just so they will melt right into your arms.

Each baby is slightly soft sculptured...I really don't do a lot on these felt dolls because the fabric tends to leave holes and stretch, so I let the actual pattern make the shape of the doll.

I am trying different types of hair right now and hope to get something that I like and can use on all of my babies to make them uniform.

I really like their finger and toe nails.  The technique I use really makes them lifelike which is really hard to do on felt.

The faces are hand-drawn and painted in acrylics, Pen, and ink...

Each face is One-of-a-Kind, even though similar in style.

I think they are so adorable!!  The faces have been treated with a UV protectant to keep the sun from doing much damage.

Please visit often and watch for more babies to show up.
Please contact me if you have any questions about my dolls.
